Alentejo enters your soul, in a house for a lifetime.
Framed by lawns and gardens, olive and orange trees, and a forest of centennial cedars, the charm and style of the Imani Country House excel in this picture of Alentejo, painted a few minutes away from Évora.
The word Imani means "believe" in Swahili, well representing the spirit of the owners which, from the herbs, brambles and ruins, rescued the abandoned 13 hectares of Montemuro farm. During three years they worked on its recovery and transformation into a small and unusual rural hotel, that receives guests with the comfort and the amiability of a friend’s house.
The old row of houses belonging to the farm estate workers, dated from 1909, is the main building of the hotel, and includes the rooms and suites. The decoration is rich in details, combining recycled relics and antiques with contemporary furniture in drawing a chic and rustic ambiance.
The restaurant Improvável serves brunches, lunches and dinner for guests only. The local flavours which inspire the menu are delicious and accompanied by the hotel´s own wine, developed by the award winning enologist Paulo Laureano.
You may participate in enriching cooking workshops and in wine tastings, and appreciate exclusive theater and music shows. You may also, and simply, relax in this perfect place for reflection, recovering your reading next to the swimming pools or meditating while strolling in the cedars forest. To return and believe.
